    Retention Year: 2026Recommendation: Meets Performance Standards Reports: 2026 Retention Survey Report (PDF) 2025 Interim Survey Report (PDF) The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance agrees by a vote of 8-0, with one member absent and one vacancy on the Commission, that Judge Christina Marie Apostoli MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS. The Colorado statutory judicial performance criteria are integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, administrative performance and service to the legal profession and the public. After meeting with Judge Apostoli, reviewing her prior work, and assessing feedback from attorneys and non-attorneys, the Commission was unanimous that Judge Apostoli meets judicial performance standards. She received praise for her demeanor, and was described as professional, kind, courteous, fair and respectful to all parties who appear before her. Judge Apostoli is consistently prepared for court and maintains objectivity when listening to and considering arguments from both sides. She manages a significant number of cases on her docket while ensuring professional decorum in the courtroom. Judge Apostoli creates a warm and welcoming environment for litigants and attorneys alike and jurors commented on her patience and fairness and that their service as a juror was valued.  While a few commented about Judge Apostoli’s legal knowledge, the Commission concluded Judge Apostoli’s knowledge base is well above average, and she is consistently striving to learn to grow. Based on all the aforementioned considerations, the Judicial Performance Commission recommends that Judge Apostoli meets performance standards and should be retained. The Commission conducted a personal interview with Judge Apostoli, reviewed written opinions she authored, observed her in court, reviewed comments received from interested parties during the evaluation, and reviewed survey responses from attorneys and non-attorneys who had experience with Judge Apostoli. Attorney and non-attorney respondents, although low in response numbers, overall found no performance issues in any evaluation criteria. This was consistent with the Commission’s overall findings. Judge Apostoli was appointed to the County Court bench on January 4, 2024, after having served as a Magistrate in the district for over 14 years Born and raised primarily in Colorado Springs, Judge Apostoli graduated high school in the Springs, attended Colorado State University to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, and earned her law degree at the University of Oklahoma. Prior to being appointed the bench, Judge Apostoli was both a Deputy District Attorney and Senior District Attorney with the District Attorney’s Office in the Eighteenth Judicial District. She currently serves as a Board member at the Juvenile Assessment Center and is  a delegate to the Arapahoe County Justice Coordinating Committee Judge Apostoli gives back to her community by always volunteering as a judge for high school mock trial competitions in Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, and coordinates the annual Bring Your Kids to Work Day at the Arapahoe County Justice Center.
