    Retention Year: 1994 Recommendation: Retain Judge Brandenburg was elected to the Morgan County Court Bench in 1964 and has served continuously for 29 years. Judge Brandenburg presently handles a caseload that consists of county court misdemeanor, traffic, traffic infraction, civil and small claims cases at a level of approximately 5,400 cases per year on a part-time basis. In comparison to other County Judges in the 13th Judicial District this is an exceptionally high caseload which Judge Brandenburg very efficiently manages. He also has a private practice of law in Brush. Evaluations received from attorneys rate Judge Brandenburg quite favorably. Evaluations received from courthouse personnel, law enforcement personnel, and jurors rate Judge Brandenburg very highly. The Commissioner’s impressions of Judge Brandenburg received at a personal interview with him indicate that he is very competent in his office, possesses the appropriate temperament for a county court judge and fulfills his responsibilities very well. The Thirteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Brandenburg BE RETAINED.

    Retention Year: 1990 Recommendation: Retain Judicial Performance Commission’s recommendation: Should Be Retained. Judge Brandenburg was admitted to the bar in 1960, and was elected as Morgan County Judge in 1964. With the advent of the judicial appointment process, he was appointed as Morgan County Judge in 1972. He continues to maintain a private practice of law in Brush. Those groups surveyed reported favorably on most aspects of Brandenburg’s judicial performance. Of those attorneys surveyed who voiced an opinion, 83% thought Judge Brandenburg should be retained. Responses from law enforcement personnel, court staff, jurors, litigants and social services personnel also indicated Brandenburg should be retained, and reported favorably on all aspects of his performance.
