    Retention Year: 1990 Recommendation: Retain Judicial Performance Commission’s recommendation: Should Be Retained Judge Mundell was appointed Baca County Court Judge in August 1986. He obtained a M.A. in Speech Communications in May 1983 from the University of Houston. His background is diversified, ranging from carpentry to a host director of a TV talk show. The jurisdiction of the court includes traffic, misdemeanors, small claims, and civil matters under $5,000. In January, 1991, the civil jurisdiction of the county court rises to $10,000. The surveys obtained in Mundell’s evaluation were limited but favorable. He was found to be strict in enforcing the letter of the law.
