    Retention Year: 2026Recommendation: Meets Performance Standards Reports: 2026 Retention Survey Report (PDF) 2025 Interim Survey Report (PDF) The Eleventh Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously agrees by vote of 7-0, with two members absent and one vacancy on the Commission, that Judge Dayna L. Vise MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS. Judge Vise presides over civil, domestic relations, juvenile, criminal and misdemeanor cases in her courtroom. In evaluating Judge Vise’s performance, the Commission reviewed survey responses from attorneys and non-attorneys, observed her courtroom, conducted a personal interview, and read opinions she has authored. Of the attorneys responding to the survey, 100% answered “yes, meets performance standards”, 0% answered “no, does not meet performance standards”, and 0% had no opinion regarding whether Judge Vise meets or does not meet performance standards. Of non-attorneys responding to the survey, 75% answered, “yes, meets performance standards”, 19% answered “no, does not meet performance standards”, and 6% had no opinion regarding whether Judge Vise meets or does not meet performance standards. A total of five attorneys and sixteen non-attorneys responded to the judicial performance surveys expressing their opinion of Judge Vise’s performance. Survey comments indicate that Judge Vise is knowledgeable, respectful of court participants, and fair. The Commission agrees with these comments based on observations of Judge Vise in the courtroom. In her interview, Judge Vise demonstrated a clear commitment to professionalism. She stays informed of changes to the law by reading weekly published court opinions and engaging in continued legal education beyond requirements. Judge Vise makes consistent efforts to treat all litigants and defendants fairly and considers district and state-wide data in all sentencing decisions. She endeavors to provide clear and understandable orders. Based on these findings the Commission unanimously agrees that Judge Vise meets judicial performance standards. Judge Vise grew up in Loveland, Colorado. She earned her B.A. and her law degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Prior to her appointment as District Court Judge on October 1, 2024, she worked as a District Court Magistrate for the Eleventh Judicial District; as a senior managing attorney for Polansky Law Firm, PLLC; as an appellate attorney and trial attorney with the Colorado Public Defender’s Office; and as a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel C. Hale. Judge Vise is active in the legal community, serving on the Colorado Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section Executive Committee and participating in local bar events. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association and the local Heart of the Rockies Bar Association. She volunteers as a mock trial judge for high school and CU mock trial competitions and volunteers with local animal welfare and outdoor/recreational organizations.
